Setup and Use a Mitel Softphone

You can use a plug in headset with Mitel Connect to make and receive calls through your computer. The phone system sees this computer installed phone as a normal extension on the system. Therefore, you can transfer calls, make conferences calls, and use all the features that are available on your phone in the office.

Requirements; some of these I.S. must do for you.

  1. You must have the Watchguard VPN client installed on your computer.
  2. You must be able to connect to the VPN.
  3. You must have the correct Mitel Connect client installed on your computer.
  4. You need speakers and a microphone. Most people use a headset to provide these.
  5. You need to confirm that the headset works.
  6. I.S. must enable soft phone on your extension. I.S.: Find extension; click Telephony; check Enable use of soft phone.

Once you meet these pre-requisites, you can connect your soft phone:

  5. Wait a few seconds until the VPN says Connected.
