Your extension can be assigned to more than one type of phone. If your extension is in a Workgroup, use this to forward your extension to an external phone, like your cell phone.

Note: If you forward to a cell phone, that device is not part of our corporate phone system. Therefore, you cannot transfer calls to other extensions.

Change Your Extension's Primary (Phone) Assignment

If You Are in a Workgroup, You Must Do This To Forward Your Extension to a Cell Phone

You need to use Mitel Connect to do this.

Mitel Connect is the helper application

in which you can lookup phone numbers

and also shows your voicemails.

To forward your desk calls to your cell phone, do this:

  1. Click on your name in Mitel Connect:
  2. The Primary Assignment feature will pop out. Now click on the Radio Button labeled External Assignment Number.
  3. If your cell phone number is already in this box skip to the next step. If not, click the link Add New Number. Enter your cell phone number; use all ten digits.

NOTE: if you are not in a Workgroup, skip steps 4 and 5.
  4. Next - if you are in a Workgroup, this is extremely important - click the down arrowhead to the right of you cell phone number in the box External Assignment Number. A menu will drop down. Click the option Press 1 to ConnectIf you are in a Workgroup, you must use this option. If you chose Automatically Connect instead, when the call rings to your cell phone, it will be pulled completely off our phone system. It will ring only once on other agents' extensions.
  5. This results in Call Screening. When the call rings on your cell phone, you answer and our phone system tells you: what number is calling; and asks if you want to accept it. Press "1" to pick up the call.
  6. Finally, click the flat line to roll this pop out feature back into the main Connect interface. Calls to your phone will now forward to your cell phone.

  7. When you are done for the day, Log Out from your Workgroup. Then calls will not ring on your cell phone.
